Review The world of technology and magic converge in this tale of mystery and spirituality. The two worlds of Stark and Arcadia have been in harmony for eons, but this fine balance has started to crumble and the two worlds are set to collide, with their fate in your hands. The Longest Journey is a basic adventure game, with the standard look-and-click method of play that you have come to expect from these outings. You play April Ryan in this alternate universe. The graphics are gorgeous, with cinematic sequences adding to the mesmerizing plot. Special effects are generously placed throughout the game, and the animation of April is excellent. In addition to the luscious graphics, the game designers have added additional atmosphere by playing the music in strategic areas of the game, giving it a greater sense of mystique and intrigue. The actors used for the characters deliver emotion in their lines, making the players feel they are truly living in an alternate world. The puzzles in the game are logical and plentiful. Some are taxing at first, and may require some lateral thinking to get started. The Longest Journey lives up to its name, as the game is played over four CDs. It's a wonderful gaming experience. For people who are new to the adventure genre, expect a warm welcome. --Alex Leung -- Amazon.co.uk
