This heel guard functions as a high resilience foam heel off-loading device that floats the heel and helps reduce the risk of foot drop. Its open heel cutout allows the heel to be suspended to help reduce the risk of skin irritation and pressure injuries. Designed with comfort in mind, heel and side ventilation holes promote air circulation to dissipate heat buildup whereas the outer lining helps minimize the risk of friction and shear. The waffle pattern of the boot’s durable high resilience foam helps prevent pressure points. Additionally, an adjustable foam elevation block helps optimize individual positioning and heel lift, and the boot’s adjustable straps allow easy adjustment for degree of foot drop control.
