Numi's Gunpowder Green is rolled into tight little pearls within hours of plucking, a traditional process that preserves a rich flavor and delicate aroma far longer than typical green teas. Green tea naturally contains L-theanine, an amino acid that has been studied for its potential to support calm focus*, alongside catechins, natural antioxidants that help neutralize free radicals in the body. We source this tea from Jiangxi, China's first Fair Trade tea garden, where Fair Trade sales have raised workers' wages 30 to 40 percent and provided funds for children's education through high school and university. Every tea bag is made from manila hemp (Abacá) fiber, sealed with a crimp-and-knot process instead of the plastic heat-seals used in most tea bags, so no polypropylene ever touches your cup. The bags are BPI Certified Biodegradable and supplier-verified free of added plastics or microplastics — not just labeled that way. The outer wrapper is plant-based and commercially compostable, made from FSC-certified paper and non-GMO sugarcane. Certified USDA Organic and Fair Trade Certified.
