King Silk Art makes silk embroidery wall art, 100% hand-stitched by Master Artists in Suzhou, China. Our artwork, Susho, is completely natural, created with tiny needles and pure silk thread. Susho is a 2500 year old family tradition, with a unique and fascinating history.Chinese people have always revered bamboo for the strength of its nature. Troubled thoughts can be eased simply by spending a few moments sitting in a bamboo forest and listening to the wind blow through the leaves.Bamboo was a basic necessity of Chinese life for centuries, used for food, construction, textiles and medincine. In ancient China, before the Chinese invented paper, they wrote on bamboo strips. Many books were written on these bamboo strips and also personal messages.Bamboo came to symbolize the receipt of a bamboo message. Generally, the messages were good news, a loved one was safe and doing well enough to send an expensive message. So, bamboo came to represent good news and good luck.Bamboo is one of ?¡ãThe Four Nobles?¡À or ?¡ãThe Four Gentlemen?¡À, along with orchids, chrysanthemums and plum blossoms. The Four Nobles represent the four seasons, bamboo is for summer, and are a popular quartet in Asian art.In Feng Shui, the color green is associated with good health, prosperity and harmony. Bamboo symbolizes gentility, graceful behavior, modesty, integrity and safety. Bamboo, neither cringing nor arrogant, stands tall and straight. Because bamboo grows so quickly that you can almost see the progress, the stalks and joints symbolize promotion, a raise in salary or rising to a higher rank or position
