Cool white emission at 8,000-10,000 mcd - Through-hole tower LED with 3.0-3.4V forward voltage at 20mA drive current. Narrow 20-30 degree viewing angle produces a tight focused beam from the clear lens, well suited to pinpoint illumination, indicator dots, and scale-model headlight or interior lighting applications.
1.8mm cylindrical tower package - Compact 1.8mm diameter through-hole body is the smallest standard DIP LED footprint, fitting into tight enclosures, scale model windows, and dense PCB layouts where 3mm and 5mm LEDs will not clear. Two radial leads accept standard hand-soldering, breadboard, or socket mounting.
Polarity and resistor reference - Through-hole LEDs are polarity-sensitive: longer lead is anode (+), shorter lead is cathode (−). For 20mA drive current with a 3.0-3.4V LED, use a series resistor of 100Ω 1/4W on 5V, 300Ω 1/4W on 9V, 470Ω 1/4W on 12V, or 620Ω 1/2W on 15V.
