Product Description
This patch is a collectible novelty and commemorative souvenir item. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or intended for official military use. The Seventh Fleet has operated continuously from the Western Pacific since 1943, making it the largest of the U.S. Navy's forward-deployed numbered fleets. Headquartered at Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Japan, 7th Fleet's area of responsibility stretches across 48 million square miles of the Indo-Pacific, from the International Date Line to the India-Pakistan border. At any given time, 50 to 70 ships, 150 aircraft, and roughly 27,000 sailors and Marines operate under its flag. The three stars above the eagle on this patch reflect the vice admiral's billet that has commanded the fleet through Korea, Vietnam, the Taiwan Strait crises, and every major Indo-Pacific operation since. This patch carries the fleet's motto, 'Ready Power For Peace' - a phrase that means something specific to anyone who stood watch in the South China Sea, steamed through the Strait of Malacca, or flew off a carrier deck somewhere between Yokosuka and Diego Garcia. Mount it in a shadow box with your ship's patch and battle group insignia, sew it on a vest for the next reunion, or clip it to the gear bag that goes everywhere with you.
