ITEM DESCRIPTIONThis Vintage Santa Clara Blackware Pottery was handmade by Flora Naranjo. This small, handled bowl is typically heavy with deep, incised patterns. It was hand built in coils and the beautiful shape was created by scraping and smoothing. The clay is stone polished before firing, which creates the high shine and matte finish you see. About 5-1/4" tall (includes handle) and 4-3/4" at the widest and in very good, used condition with light wear and a few white marks near the bottom. It's hand signed. This Vintage Santa Clara Blackware Pottery is one of a kind! Glenda (1953- ) "Cloth Stick Flower", learned from her mother, Flora and has been active since the 1970's. She is an award winning artist, whose work is in the Heard Museum Phoenix, as well as, many private collections.
