Doctor Stuff Sodium Heparin Labels for Dark Green-Top Blood Collection Tube Identification, 1-1/4" x 5/16", Fluorescent Orange/Black, Permanent Adhesive, 250 Labels/Box
Product Information
About this item
- DARK GREEN-TOP SODIUM HEPARIN TUBE ID — Identifies sodium heparin specimens for chromosome analysis (karyotype), HLA typing, lead testing, and ammonia levels — tests that specifically require sodium heparin anticoagulant.
- DIFFERENTIATES FROM LITHIUM HEPARIN — Both are green-top, but sodium and lithium heparin tubes are NOT interchangeable. Fluorescent orange clearly distinguishes sodium heparin from lithium heparin — the most common green-tube submission error.
- COMPLETE GREEN-TUBE DIFFERENTIATION — Pairs with Doctor Stuff Lithium Heparin labels (A1073) to provide explicit identification for both green-top heparin tube types and prevent cross-tube submission errors.
- COLD & DAMP RATED PERMANENT ADHESIVE — Rubber-based permanent adhesive bonds to cold, wet tube surfaces directly from ice packs and refrigerated phlebotomy trays. Apply at temperatures as low as +20°F (-7°C); rated for service from -65°F to +160°F (-54°C to +71°C). Stays secure through refrigerated specimen transport and cold-room handling.
- MADE IN THE USA — 250 labels per box. Cold and damp surface rated. Fluorescent orange differentiates from lithium heparin green labels — making the sodium vs. lithium distinction visible at every step from draw to analyzer.
Product Description
Sodium heparin labels for dark green-top blood collection tube identification and anticoagulant differentiation.Doctor Stuff Sodium Heparin labels identify sodium heparin plasma specimens from dark green-top tubes — required for chromosome analysis (cytogenetics/karyotype), HLA typing, lead and heavy metal testing, and certain ammonia level protocols that specify sodium heparin anticoagulant. Sodium heparin and lithium heparin tubes are both green-top but are not interchangeable for many tests. Chromosome analysis and HLA typing specifically require sodium heparin; submitting lithium heparin tubes for these tests results in specimen rejection. Tube-level labeling that differentiates sodium from lithium heparin tubes makes the anticoagulant type explicit at the draw site, during courier transport, and at the receiving bench. Fluorescent orange face stock provides visual differentiation from lithium heparin labels (fluorescent green). The compact 1-1/4" x 5/16" format fits standard dark green-top tube surfaces.Adhesive rated for cold blood collection tube surfaces.Rubber-based permanent adhesive bonds to cold, wet tube surfaces directly from phlebotomy trays at temperatures as low as +20°F (-7°C). Service range -65°F to +160°F (-54°C to +71°C). Made in USA.Part of the Doctor Stuff blood collection tube labeling system. For light green-top lithium heparin tube identification — used for STAT chemistry panels, ionized calcium, lactic acid, and ammonia testing — Doctor Stuff Lithium Heparin labels (fluorescent green) are the anticoagulant-differentiated counterpart. Using both labels across the green-top tube family supports accurate anticoagulant-to-test routing. SST Serum, EDTA Plasma, Plasma, Sodium Citrate, and Potassium Oxalate labels complete the full blood collection tube type menu.
