About this item
- In response to customer requests, I have increased the thickness of the platter by 3mm to 19mm. The official U-Turn platter is 16mm, but if you don't want to use a mat, this results in a poor VTA alignment. Because some of the benefit of an acrylic platter comes from putting the record directly on the platter, I have increased the height so you won't have a VTA issue when you place the record directly on the platter.
- Made by SupremeTech to be compatible with U-Turn Turntables - Not Made by U-Turn Audio
- Upgrade your listening experience with an acrylic platter. An acrylic platter decreases wow & flutter effects due to its higher mass which increases rotational inertia, and acrylic provides a cleaner and more detailed sound by minimizing unwanted vibrations as a result of its high density and low stiffness.
- It is recommended that you place records directly on the acrylic platter with no mat to take full advantage of the properties of acrylic.
- Diameter: 11.8 inches (300mm), Thickness: 0.75 inches (19mm), Weight: 3lb, 4oz (1475 grams), Diameter of center hole: 0.75 inches (19mm).
Product Description
Many turntables come with a more basic entry-level platter. Upgrading to an acrylic platter is one of the best options to improve the sound quality of your turntable. Acrylic offers a great combination of qualities that make it a great platter option. It is dense and not overly stiff. The density helps to decrease wow and flutter and the density combined with the low stiffness helps provide a clean sound with less static. As a further benefit, acrylic looks great, and can work well with lighting effects if you have any such accessories. Note that this platter is made by SupremeTech, not U-Turn Audio; however, it is compatible with U-Turn Turntables.
