Riare 5.3oz Natural Sphagnum Moss for Reptiles- Terrarium Reptiles Moss

Product Information

About this item

• 5.3 OZ, Expands to 6 QT: This compressed sphagnum moss expands into a soft, fluffy substrate after soaking, providing plenty of material for humid hides, terrarium bedding, small animal enclosures, plant propagation, and decorative projects. The compact package takes up less storage space, while the portionable format lets you hydrate only what you need for cost-effective habitat care.
• Humidity Control & Moisture Retention: The fibrous reptile moss absorbs water and gradually releases moisture to help maintain a humid microclimate without forming a dense, compact layer. Use it in humid hides or mixed substrate systems for reptiles and amphibians that benefit from stable humidity. Monitor the enclosure with a hygrometer and adjust moisture according to the needs of each species.
• Humid Hides & Shedding Support: Ideal for leopard gecko humid hides, ball python and snake enclosures, turtle habitats, frog and tree frog tanks, and jumping spider setups. The moistened sphagnum moss creates a localized humid area that supports natural shedding while giving animals a comfortable place to rest, hide, and explore.
• Soft Bedding for Natural Behaviors: Once hydrated and fluffed, the moss creates a soft, flexible layer suitable for nesting, burrowing, egg-laying, breeding setups, and shelter building. Use it as reptile moss bedding, a terrarium top layer, or part of a bioactive and naturalistic animal habitat to add texture and a forest-floor appearance.
• Easy to Prepare, Portion & Store: Remove the amount needed, soak it in water until fully expanded, squeeze out excess moisture, fluff the fibers, and place them in the enclosure. The compressed format is easy to store and portion, and one bag can be used for multiple small humid hides or terrarium setups. Replace the moss when soiled and avoid keeping it waterlogged.
• For Reptiles, Plants & Creative Projects: Beyond reptile habitat setups, this natural sphagnum moss works well for orchid propagation, plant propagation, indoor plant top dressing, terrarium decoration, and natural-looking displays. It can also be used for crafting, decorative arrangements, soil amendment, compost mixes, and as part of a compost worm bedding blend.
