About this item

• HANDWOVEN BY WOMEN IN GHANA - Crafted by the skilled hands of Bolgatanga artisans, each basket with handle is woven from vibrant, sustainably sourced elephant grass, featuring distinctive, colorful geometric patterns that celebrate Ghana's rich cultural heritage. Each is unique, just like the woman who made it!
• STURDY BUILD FOR EVERYDAY USE - Built to endure the rigors of daily use, our baskets are reinforced with a sturdy base and equipped with durable, stitched leather handles for easy carrying. They are ideal for shopping, harvesting, stylish home organization, and use as a farmers market bag or garden tote. Perfect as a basket for gifting or for storage at home.
• FLAT PACKED AND VARIETY OF DESIGNS - Each flat-packed native basket features a variety of colors and unique designs, randomly selected to add a touch of uniqueness to your space. Easily reshape your basket by spraying or immersing in water, shaking off excess water, hand shaping while wet, and allowing it to air dry. Just 5 minutes of simple care, and you're done!
• COMPACT & RESPONSIBLY SOURCED - This farmer's market basket is approximately 9-10 inches in diameter and 6 inches in height (9 inches including the handle), perfect for small storage needs and decorative purposes. Crafted using traditional methods and locally sourced elephant grass, each piece stands out from a typical straw basket, supporting the preservation of artisanal techniques and the use of regional materials.
• EMPOWERING COMMUNITIES - Your purchase directly supports Africa Heartwood Project’s initiatives to provide livelihood and community development for women artisans and their families in Ghana, helping to maintain their livelihoods and cultural traditions.
