Chopsticks are a critical part of Japanese food culture. Although small in size, they are filled with art created by tradition and craftsmanship and can take months to make. The highest quality chopsticks in the world are Japanese Wakasa styles. They are characterized by their unique three dimentional patterns created by applying more than a dozen coats of colorful lacker made from natural materials such as seashells, pine needles, and eggshells. This technique is called "jewel lacquering" because of its noble shine. This set comes with chopstick rests that reflect the traditional Wakasa style and acrylic chopsticks that add fun to your meal table.
