You will learn how to play classics like Jingle Bells, Silent Night, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, and more. The best part is you don't need to know how to read music to start playing right away. This book includes both tab and traditional notation, so you can choose the method that suits you best.Version 1: Letter + Tab NotationTab notation is a simple way of showing you where to place your fingers on the cello, without requiring you to read music. The letter and tab notation combination shows you the pitch of the note and the finger position on the string, making it easy to learn and play the song. Letter names are written inside the note heads. Bow direction and fingering are also clearly marked! Cello TAB is great for beginners because it lets you focus on the basics of playing, such as posture, bowing and intonation. You don't have to worry about learning music theory or deciphering complex symbols. You can just play and enjoy the music! When combined with letter in notehead, you can also learn to read notes faster than ever!Version 2: Standard NotationThe standard notation shows you the musical staff, dynamics and the note values, allowing you to play the song with more accuracy and expression.Which Versions should I use?You can choose which version to use depending on your preference and skill level. If you are new to the cello and do not read notes yet, you can start with the letter and tab notation and practice until you feel comfortable. Then, you can challenge yourself by switching to the standard notation and play without looking at the letter and fingering. This will help you develop your sight-reading and musicality skills.Scale Warm UpAll the songs in this book are arranged in keys and in order of difficulty. All songs are written in first position, which means that your left hand stays near the top of the fingerboard. This is the most common and easy position for beginners. They are also written in the beginner-friendly keys. Make sure to warm up with the according scales before playing the songs. It will help you learn all the notes.Song Lists:Jolly Old Saint NicholasJingle BellsDeck the HallsWe Three KingsCome All Ye FaithfulJoy To the WorldUp On the HousetopAway In a MangerWe Wish You a Merry ChristmasThe First NoelSilent NightO Christmas Tree (O Tannenbaum)Angels We Have Heard on HighHallelujah Chorus (from Handel’s Messiah)O Little Town of BethlehemAuld Lang SyneGo Tell It on the MountainThe Twelve Days of ChristmasO Holy NightWhat Child Is This?I wrote this book because throughout my years of teaching, I noticed that many beginner students wanted to play Christmas songs during the holidays, but they had trouble finding easy scores for players who cannot read music fluently yet.
