When just a little fresh air is needed crack your door/window open and engage the sliding glass door bolt, and the opening is still not be wide enough for someone to force entry into your home

When drilling manually or power drilling holes in the door, be as close to the edge of the door frame as possible to avoid the screws hitting the glass and causing cracks, and wear safety glasses
