Cru Kafe Variety is a USDA Organic espresso pod built for the Nespresso Original Line, a medium roast at strength balanced with notes of eight blends. The capsule is aluminum rather than plastic, which is what holds the crema between the roastery and the cup and what lets the whole thing go into household recycling afterward. Every capsule is USDA Organic and Fairtrade certified. The coffee grew without pesticides, solvents or synthetic fertilizer, and the farms behind it were paid a fair wage rather than whatever the commodity market allowed that month. That is a slower way to buy coffee and a more expensive one to produce, and it is the reason the cup tastes of the fruit in the bean rather than the chemistry used to force the yield. The capsules fit Original Line machines, including Krups, Inissia, CitiZ, Pixie, KitchenAid and Expert, alongside Nespresso's own. They do not fit Vertuo, so it is worth checking the machine on the counter before ordering. The range runs from a light strength four to a strength twelve ristretto, with a decaf and a half caff, so a household that disagrees about coffee can still buy from one shelf.
