About this item
- TWO SET POINTS, AND IT HOLDS THE ZONE - You choose the temperature that switches the outlet on and the temperature that switches it off, right on a graph in the app, and the built-in relay takes it from there, checking the probe continuously and acting in about 5 seconds. Accuracy is ±0.9°F between 14°F and 185°F, across a working range of -40°F to 257°F. Set it as heating, so the outlet powers up when the enclosure cools past your low point, or as cooling, so it powers up when the room climbs past your high point. One device, one direction at a time.
- A LOUD ALARM WHEN THE TEMPERATURE GETS AWAY FROM YOU - Basic outlet thermostats at this price fail quietly: the mat overshoots, or the heater stops, and you find out in the morning. This one sounds a loud alarm the moment the reading leaves the range you set, so a heat mat running away at 2 a.m. or an incubator drifting on day 18 gets your attention while there is still something to be done about it. Once you have seen what happened, the buzzer can be switched off in the app rather than by pulling the plug.
- A GRAPH INSTEAD OF A KNOB - Dialing a range in on a two-knob or three-button controller is guesswork you cannot see. Here both set points, the live reading and the °F/°C switch sit on one screen in the free MOCREO app, so a first setup takes minutes and a later adjustment takes seconds. The link is Bluetooth, not WiFi, rated to 50 ft / 15 m in the open: that covers the couch or the next room, not the office or a vacation. The app and an account are required.
- A BUTTON ON THE UNIT FOR WHEN YOUR PHONE ISN'T HANDY - Not every moment calls for an app. A short press on the body switches the outlet off and back on by hand, which is what you want when you are already at the rack with both hands busy. During an alarm, that same short press silences the buzzer and leaves your set points untouched, so quieting it does not mean unplugging the controller and losing temperature control along with the noise.
- IT DISAPPEARS BEHIND THE TANK - The body plugs straight into the wall instead of hanging off a cord in a box, so it tucks in behind a terrarium, a breeding rack or a seedling shelf rather than taking up bench space or dangling where a curious animal can get to it. There is nothing to mount and no housing to find a shelf for.
- THE PROBE GOES INSIDE, AND IT COMES OFF WHEN IT HAS TO - The 4.92 ft probe reaches the spot where temperature actually matters, inside the enclosure, inside the brooder, or taped along the pipe, so the outlet responds to the object you care about instead of to the room air around it. The probe plugs into the body rather than being molded in, and a MOCREO extension cable is available separately for setups where 4.92 ft comes up short.
- 1100W COVERS MOST OF WHAT YOU WILL PLUG IN - 10A / 1100W at 100-240V runs reptile heat mats and ceramic heat emitters, brooder and coop lamps, seedling mats and greenhouse heaters, pipe freeze-protection cable, DIY chamber heaters, and a cooling fan for when the problem runs the other way. One controller handles the small heating jobs around a rack, a bench or a grow shelf, so you are not matching a different device to every kind of heater.
- WHAT IT WILL NOT DO - Worth knowing before you buy. It controls one outlet in one direction, so it cannot run a heater and a cooler at the same time the way a two-outlet controller can. It has no day-night program and no dimming, so it switches full power on and off rather than tapering it. And it is made for indoor, dry placement: the probe is not rated for submersion, so standing water and outdoor exposure are outside what this controller is built for.
