10cm Steel Rattleback - Physics Fidget Desk Object, Adults, 14+

About this item

• A rattleback creates one of the most inexplicable phenomena in the world of science. Measuring 10cm in length and made using high-quality steel alloy, the device will swing counter-clockwise with ease, not unlike a top.
• However, once you try to swing it clockwise, you’ll witness a spin-reversal and will rattle until it comes to a complete stop and reverses its direction. An ancient toy also known as a Celtic or Wobble stone that has been enchanting people of all ages for centuries.
• A spectacular piece made from reclaimed furniture by Canadian fine wood crafter Emmanuel Péluchon using locally sourced ash wood and natural products only (linseed oil, wax and resin) to create beautifully finished goods.
• This is an anagyra (rattleback) with a pronounced reversal, the behaviour of this object truly seems to go against the laws of physics.
• METAL: Stainless Steel. SIZE: 10cm
