About this item

• Complete Outdoor Watercolor Easel Set – Designed in Finland by a plein air painter-engineer. The easel can be used both in a home studio and outdoors. Ergonomic design allows long and comfortable painting sessions without shoulder or back strain. All tools are close to the painting area, allowing fast painting with minimal hand movement. Paint sitting or standing. Smooth ±45° tilt adjustment with a quick handle. Supports sketchbooks, loose sheets and blocks up to 16×12″ in horizontal or vertical orientation. Fully portable in a backpack. Integrated solution for carrying wet paintings safely. All parts are strong and durable.
• Complete Set Includes – 70L Pleinly BP-70 backpack, 16.1″ folding stool with seat cushion, Pleinly T-1 tripod with 3 quick-release plates, wooden easel board with dual tripod mounting points, 16×12″ wooden wet panel carrier frame with shoulder bag, 16×12″ varnished plywood backing board, two stainless steel 650 ml water cups, two watercolor palettes, 100% cotton watercolor sketchbook (8×12″), 9 clips (magnetic clips, paper clips and plastic clamps), and a double oil cup.
• Watercolor Easel Set Functionality – This set does not limit your creativity. It is highly modular and suitable for many painting styles, allowing you to work with larger formats and enjoy long painting sessions. Create real paintings, not just quick sketches. Watch the watercolor easel setup and overview videos to understand the wide range of functionality, features, and benefits. See also the list of item weights and sizes at the end of this page.
• Strong Outdoor Construction – Designed for reliable outdoor use. The tripod remains stable even in windy conditions and uses a balanced tripod head (not a typical lightweight smartphone tripod). Dual tripod mounting points provide a backup attachment point. Stainless steel bolts are used in the tripod quick-release plates and folding stool legs. Wooden parts are protected with 3–4 layers of varnish, and all corners are rounded and polished. The carrier frame uses D3 wood glue and reinforcing dowels for extra strength. Fabrics are extra-strong 600D PU-coated water-resistant polyester. The set also includes spare parts, and many components can be purchased separately if needed.
• Wet Panel Carrier Features – Allows you to transfer wet paintings safely from the field back home. Includes a wooden carrier frame with 16×12″ insets on both sides. The frame can hold the 16×12″ easel board and 16×12″ backing board together, or 1–2 finished 16×12″ paintings. Supports other common sizes such as 8×12″, 9×12″ and 12×12″. The included Pleinly 8×12″ sketchbook can also be carried while still wet. Loose sheets attached to the waterproof backing board can be placed inside the carrier after painting. Also supports standard watercolor blocks, canvases and panels. Plenty of extra space inside the bag. See the wet panel carrier video for more details.
• Backpack Features – The Pleinly BP-70 backpack has 70 L capacity. When the easel set is packed inside, about 50% of the space still remains available for additional gear, food, or camping equipment. The backpack is designed so the wet panel carrier bag can be placed inside or attached to the outside. It includes four large pockets (about 3 liters each) and several practical features such as a removable hip belt that helps transfer weight from the shoulders to the hips. Also includes a water bottle holder and two carabiners. Compression straps allow the backpack size to be reduced when not fully loaded. See the backpack video for more details.
• Folding Stool Features – Provides comfortable seating for long painting sessions. The 16.1″ (41 cm) seat height plus a 1 cm separate cushion creates an ergonomic sitting position and helps insulate from cold surfaces. Maximum weight capacity is 265 lb (120 kg). The stool folds into a very compact size and weighs only 1.3 lb (650 g). Includes a carry bag and an under-seat storage pocket. Four protective feet caps are installed, plus two spare caps for aluminum leg protection and improved ground grip. The unfolded stool fits inside the included BP-70 backpack. Made from strong 600D polyester fabric with stainless steel leg joint bolts for durability.
• Tripod Features – The Pleinly T-1 tripod provides stable support for the easel even in windy conditions. It weighs 2.08 lb (945 g) and has metal legs with three flip locks per leg. Folded length is 18.3″ (46.5 cm), and maximum height is 59″ (150 cm). Includes three quick-release plates with stainless steel standard-size ¼″-20 easel board connection bolts. Also includes a smartphone holder. The balanced tripod head allows ±90° tilt adjustment and locks securely with a rotary handle. A hook allows attaching extra weight if needed for additional stability. See the easel setup video for more details.
• Watercolor Palette Features – Includes a metal tin palette and a larger plastic palette. The metal palette can be attached to the easel board using two magnetic clips. It contains 14 full pans and 25 additional half pans, allowing you to create your own color combination. Use watercolor tube paints (not included) to fill the pans. The plastic palette has 18 pigment wells and three large mixing areas. Both palettes can be placed on the easel table, or the plastic palette can be held in your free hand. Using two palettes allows mixing a wide range of colors while keeping colors bright and clean.
