About this item
- 🔍 Multifunctional Circuit Tracer: VEHLIVE Multifunctional circuit finder&trcing wire is suitable for 6-42V DC circuits, enabling easy location of breaker points, open connections, broken wires, continuity, leakage (via tone change), and even tracing wires/cables without damaging insulation. For DIY enthusiasts, repair shop and technicians, this is a convenient and efficient circuit tracing kit that quickly and easily determines cable/wire continuity and diagnoses break points.
- 🔊 Efficient Audio-Visual Signals for Break Point Location: The wire break locator features a transmitter and receiver. The transmitter's LED indicator displays open or short circuit conditions. The signal receiver incorporates a built-in buzzer, providing instant, clear feedback to help you quickly and easily locate open connections, broken wires, short circuits, or even trace wiring paths without damaging insulation. Note: Signal strength affects volume. If the sound is faint, try adjusting the probe position to obtain a stronger signal for more accurate detection.
- ❌Wire Continuity Testing: Push the transmitter switch down to “CONT” mode and connect the red and black clips to both ends of the wire being tested. If the green light does not illuminate, the wire circuit is faulty. To pinpoint the exact fault location, switch to “TONE” mode and use the receiver to locate the precise fault point. If the wire is in good condition, the green light will illuminate.
- ⚡ Checking for Short Circuits: 1. Disconnect power to the circuit under test and remove all loads from the wire (e.g., remove bulbs from the circuit). 2. Set the transmitter switch to the “CONT” position. Connect the transmitter test leads to both ends of the wire under test. 3. After removing all loads, a lit green LED indicates multiple wires are shorted. Note: The green LED at “CONT” will also illuminate when the resistance of the removed load is less than 10k ohms.
- 📡 Flexible Probe Design: The trace wires features 7-inch bendable steel probes. Without damaging insulation, you can easily locate circuit faults by bending wires or connectors and listening for tone changes in the receiver—even in tight spaces like engine compartments, dashboards, wiring harnesses, conduits, and behind panels. This wire locator saves time and effort.
- 🧰Complete Automotive circuit tracer kit: The Automotive Short Circuit Finder effortlessly locates open circuits, short circuits, and broken connections in any 6-42V DC automotive system. It serves as an essential troubleshooting companion for diagnosing electrical circuit faults in cars, trucks, motorcycles, trailers, boats, and RVs. This electrical circuit tracer includes a transmitter, receiver, test leads, alligator clips, 2 x 9V batteries, and a convenient carrying case for on-the-go diagnostics. (Important: Only for use in 6-42V DC automotive systems. Not for household AC circuits or ignition systems.)
- ⚠️ Important Note: The open & short finder circuit tester comes with two 9V batteries, one for the receiver and one for the transmitter. When the signal is weak, the receiver volume will decrease. First, check if the batteries have sufficient charge, as low power can affect the tool's normal operation. Alternatively, adjust the tracing mode correctly and try setting the signal volume to maximum. Additionally, when not using the wire tracer, turn it off or remove the batteries directly to prevent power drain.
