The Believer

Product Description

On the morning his best friend was supposed to get married, Robert Copman found him dead.Pittsburgh drug enforcement officer Robert Copman has spent months trying to piece together what really happened to Jonathan Rivers — investigative journalist, his oldest friend, found dead on his wedding day in what everyone is calling a suicide. But Robert's memories of that morning are fractured, incomplete. And the harder he pushes to recover them, the further the truth seems to slip away. While Robert investigates Jonathan's death, another killer is moving through the city's criminal underworld. The press has named him The Believer — a methodical executioner who leaves his victims decapitated and fingerless, in a style that mirrors a massacre from twenty years ago. The two cases shouldn't be connected.Except they are.The answers Robert is chasing will lead him through Pittsburgh's narco networks, into the secrets of a department he thought he knew, and toward a truth about his own mind far worse than anything he imagined possible.Told from inside a psychiatric facility, The Believer is a propulsive crime novel about memory, guilt, and what we choose not to know about ourselves.
