The complete kit includes one Zigbee gateway, one automatic valve controller, and four wireless water leak sensors for placement near sinks, toilets, washing machines, water heaters, basements, kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry areas. When one of the sensors detects water, the gateway can activate the valve controller and help shut off the water supply automatically. Once the local leak-to-shutoff automation has been configured, this protection can continue even when the internet connection is unavailable. For protection during a household power outage, connect the gateway to a compatible UPS backup power supply. Because the leak sensors and valve controller operate on batteries, the system can continue local leak detection and automatic shutoff while the UPS keeps the gateway powered. UPS and batteries are sold separately. Remote app notifications, voice commands, and other cloud-based features may be unavailable if internet service is interrupted. The gateway connects to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and is compatible with Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings, and Tuya/Smart Life for convenient smart home integration, app notifications, remote monitoring, and supported voice-control functions.
