Product Description
Porcelain Ambiente mug approx. 400 ml mug – mug – cup approx. 10.5 cm high, diameter 9.5 cm, design by the Dutch artist Rien Poortvielt. Ideal as a gift in winter and for Christmas 'Embrace the beauty of nature' - this quote describes the life and work of Rien Poortvliet. The Dutch artist Rien Poortvliet (*1932 – 1995) saw himself as a painting storyteller. His pictures tell the story, highlighted by a small caption. He lets his love of nature and wildlife run wild by using his ability to portray them figuratively in all their beauty. Boars, rabbits, deer, foxes, otters, beavers etc., he captures everything in a very realistic drawing or painting that immediately shows his eye for the details and beauty of nature. The Poortvliets work can be clearly described as immense. He became known internationally to a wide audience through books such as 'Er war einer von us', 'Auf den Spuren meiner Fäter', 'Mein Hundebuch', 'Pferde' or 'The Secret Book of the Heinzelmännchen'. Although he died in 1995, his books remain classics that enchant both new readers and long-time fans again and again. Rien Poortvliet's work has been published in many countries such as France, Germany, Great Britain, Sweden, Finland, Italy, the USA.
