About

Where Ireland Lived: The thatched cottage was the common home of rural Ireland for centuries, its straw roof and stone walls as much a part of the landscape as the hawthorn hedges around them. Lit from inside as the originals were on winter evenings, it holds the memory of the cottage, the last thing many families saw when they left for good.
Parian Holds Detail: Parian china is an ivory-white clay body developed exclusively at the Belleek pottery, more luminous than standard bone china and capable of holding fine surface detail no other material matches. At 6.5 x 5.3 x 10 inches, every piece passes through 16 pairs of hands, and any piece that fails inspection is destroyed.
Light Through Stone: From the Belleek Classic range, rows of scored thatch cover the roof from peak to eave, each stone in the walls built individually in low relief. A barrel and donkey-and-cart sit by the door for a 360-degree view. Four windows are pierced through for the included E12 5-watt LED bulb. Wipe with a damp cloth.
Ready to Present: Arrives in a Belleek branded gift box, complete and ready to hand over as it comes. On a side table with the light on, the cottage casts a warm glow and sits quietly in a corner of a room, holding the eye. For St. Patrick's Day, it is the kind of gift that gets put down carefully and looked at again before the evening ends.
Fermanagh's Lasting Standard: Since 1857, the Belleek pottery on the River Erne in Belleek, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, has made its work from the same site, generation by generation. The backstamp on the base confirms origin and year of production. Explore the wider Belleek Classic range for more Irish cottage giftware.
