Product Description
Everything you need to start a thriving bioactive enclosure in one kit. This combo pairs 30 live Powder Orange isopods (Porcellionides pruinosus) with an 8 oz coco temperate springtail culture and 2 quarts of premium isopod substrate, giving you a complete, ready-to-go cleanup crew. Powder Orange isopods are a warm, creamy-orange cleanup species with a soft powdery coating that gives them an almost glowing look as they move and molt. They're fast, busy movers that quickly settle into a well-planted enclosure. Working alongside the springtails, they recycle leaf litter, shed skin, decaying plants, and uneaten food to keep your substrate balanced and your enclosure clean. The included premium substrate gives both species a healthy place to establish from day one. Premium Isopod Substrate is a standalone bagged substrate blended for general isopod and springtail culture use. The mix combines woodchips, charcoal, New Zealand sphagnum, peat, sand, and limestone calcium to hold moisture, support microfauna development, and contribute trace nutrition as the materials break down. This is a working substrate suited to keepers who already have an enclosure rather than a complete starter kit with food and cover included. Care is simple: keep your enclosure comfortable between about 70 and 80 F, with humidity around 60 to 80 percent , one moist corner and a drier side , plus good ventilation and some bark or cork for hiding. Offer a varied organic diet including leaf litter, vegetables, and fish flake.
