Crime Scene Luminol Powder (Makes 8 oz of Glowing Solution) | Chemiluminescence Reagent for Science Experiments | Forensic Chemistry & Educational STEM Demonstrations | Just Add Water
Product Information
About
Luminol is the classic chemical used by forensic investigators to find unseen clues. How does it work? It’s all about a fascinating process called chemiluminescence. When the Luminol solution is sprayed on a surface containing iron (like the hemoglobin found in trace amounts of blood), it undergoes a chemical reaction that releases energy in the form of a cool, eerie blue glow.
Each vial contains enough powdered luminol to easily mix with water, creating 8 ounces of solution.
How to Use: Add one vial of Luminol powder to eight ounces of water in a small spray bottle and mix gently. When sprayed on surfaces where a reaction is possible, you'll observe a bright, ethereal glow, revealing the hidden chemistry at play.
When sprayed on surfaces where dried blood is evident, the luminol will make the blood patterns appear a bright green.
Use within 20 minutes after mixing in a total dark area.
Product Description
Bring the excitement of a real crime lab right into your classroom or home with our Luminol Powder Science Kit! If you've ever wanted to show your students a chemical reaction that seems like magic, this is the perfect experiment.Luminol is the classic chemical used by forensic investigators to find unseen clues. This kit makes it easy and safe to explore this amazing scientific principle.Your Next Science Fair Project:This Luminol kit provides a perfect starting point for an award-winning project. Students can design experiments to test:How long the glow lasts. What other common substances (like bleach or certain metals) might also cause a reaction. The effects of temperature on the brightness of the glow. What's Included:Each vial contains 9 grams of Luminol powder, enough to create 8 ounces of testing solution. For a complete experiment, we recommend using it with synthetic blood (sold separately) to ensure a safe and controlled demonstration.Safety First! This experiment is a fantastic learning opportunity, but safety is key. It must be conducted under direct adult supervision. Always wear safety goggles and gloves when handling and mixing the chemicals.
