BEGINNER MODEL-ROCKET-BUILDING KIT: The Estes Orbitron kit offers kids ages 10+ and rocketeer enthusiasts an exciting introduction to real aerospace science. It includes rocket parts, design decals, recovery parachute, and instructions. It requires Estes rocket engines, starters, recovery wadding, launch pad system with “Maxi” launch rod, and 4 high-quality 1.5-volt AA alkaline batteries for launch use (sold separately).
SOARS UP TO 950 FT.: The Orbitron model rocket features a futuristic, aerodynamic design with a projected altitude of 950 ft. (290 m) using a D12-7 Estes rocket engine (sold separately). It is also compatible with C11-3, C11-5, D12-5, and D12-7 rocket engines.
READY TO ASSEMBLE: Each beginner rocket kit can be completed in approximately 1 hour or less. Then pair it with an Estes Porta-Pad II Pad with a 3/16-Inch Launch Rod and Electron Beam Controller (sold seperately).
SAFETY FIRST, FUN ALWAYS: Our rockets and rocket launch accessories are designed to be used with the NAR (National Association of Rocketry) model-rocket safety code. Always ensure you have an appropriate launch site, stand back at least 15 ft., insert the safety key, issue a countdown, and then you can let your rocket fly!
