PALE TO ALMOST COLORLESS — Platina is one of the lightest shellacs. Platina flakes have the least color impact and are often chosen for light woods when as much preservation as possible of the original wood color is preferred. It may still add a faint warmth or “wet look,” but much less than blondes or orange. On pale woods like maple, ash, birch, holly, spruce, and light pine, platina adds a slight depth and gives a “clear finished” look without much ambering. On darker woods, it adds clarity and sheen but very little color change, making it useful when the goal is protection without noticeably warming or darkening the piece.
TRULY DE-WAXED FOR CLEAN TOPCOAT ADHESION — All wax has been removed, so these flakes bond cleanly under polyurethane, lacquer, oil, or any topcoat without adhesion failure. Use as a standalone finish or as a sealer coat between other finish layers. Dissolves crystal clear in denatured alcohol with no cloudiness or residue.

Dissolves in denatured alcohol. Grind before use to expedite dissolving or if blocked. If shipped when temperatures are above 90 degrees F, blocking may occur. Product properties are not affected by this.
