Drilled a 1-1/2" hole with a 5/16 drill bit , tapped tree, added some tubing, and hung bucket from the hook. Sap flowed well and the clean up is easy with some hot water.
You can use the tap for maple trees a couple different ways, you can either have them drip directly into the bucket, or you can use tubes with them.
