Maine Lobster Boat Model Kit HISTORY This model is based on a typical Maine Lobster Boat. This type of fishing vessel was developed post-World War I with the advent of reliable gasoline engines, replacing older boats like the Friendship Sloop and the powered Dory. THE KIT The kit is designed for display and includes various high-quality materials and detailed instructions. It comes with Full-size rolled plans and an illustrated 56-page construction manual. The kit features laser-cut basswood and mahogany parts, wood for a display stand included, and a complete set of high-quality cast metal fittings. Materials for two lobster traps and two cast metal lobsters are also provided. The kit is suitable for individuals with some prior experience in building wood boat kits (Skill Level 3), as it requires cutting, fitting, shaping, and fabricating parts.
