Optimum MDR Mineral Deposit Remover is designed for use as an car exterior cleaner to remove unsightly and damaging contaminants left by hard water on painted surfaces. Water marks (or water spots) are caused from hard water evaporating on the surface. the water carries minerals and contamination, and as the water evaporates off, these contaminants are super heated and left behind on the surface. Optimum MDR will work best on a surface that has been coated and protected with a product such as Optimum Gloss-Coat, or other leading ceramic coating, where the water spots haven't had the chance to actually etch into the paint. It is important to remove water spots regularly, so that these contaminants do not have the chance to fully etch into the paint, requiring polishing or other abrasive removal. When applying MDR, it is extremely important to allow the cleaning solution to work for 60 seconds prior to wiping away, as some of these contaminants may be fixed to the painted surface. If the first application does not remove water spots, repeat the application process. If water spots are not removed with application of MDR, polishing may be necessary, or contact your local detailing professional.
